Finding your next opportunity should not start with writing a promotional biography. For chaperones and tutors, Chaperone Collective offers free registration and basic email alerts when suitable opportunities are posted.
The starting point is simple: register through the route for people looking for work, receive opportunity alerts and decide which jobs you want to pursue. There is no need to turn that into an exercise in selling yourself through a public profile.
Choose the route for people looking for work
On our registration page, choose the Chaperones and Tutors section and follow the Register Free link.
This is different from the membership routes for people offering work. Productions, assistant directors and head or lead chaperones use those routes to post opportunities and connect with registered chaperones and tutors.
If you are looking for work yourself, start with the free registration route rather than a hirer membership.
Use an alert as an invitation to look more closely
An email alert gives you an opportunity to consider, not a decision already made for you. Read the information in the opportunity before deciding whether to pursue it.
You might start with a few straightforward questions:
- Is this the sort of work I am looking for?
- Does the information provided give me enough to decide whether I am interested?
- What would I want to clarify with the person advertising it?
These are suggestions for considering an opportunity, not a list of fields you must fill in on the website. If something important is missing, ask about it rather than assuming the answer.
Decide which opportunities to pursue
You choose which jobs you want to pursue. Receiving an alert does not mean you have to express interest in every opportunity that reaches you.
If an opportunity interests you, follow the response instructions supplied with it. Keep your message relevant to that particular opportunity and be clear about anything you need to understand before taking the conversation further.
An alert is not a booking confirmation or a promise of work. It is a starting point for exploring an opportunity.
Free registration and paid hirer membership serve different purposes
Chaperones and tutors can register free, receive basic email opportunity alerts and express interest in suitable work without a charge to do so.
For productions, assistant directors and head or lead chaperones offering work, Chaperone Collective provides monthly and annual membership options. These support a different use of the platform: posting opportunities rather than looking for them.
You can read the current options on our membership page. There is no need to choose a paid hirer membership simply because you want to hear about work.
Start with the right registration route
If you are a chaperone or tutor looking for opportunities, register free with Chaperone Collective.
